Machinery Prognostics & Condition Monitoring Technical Group


The mission of the Machinery Prognostics and Condition Monitoring Technical Group is to develop new methodologies and technologies for accurate and reliable prediction of remaining useful life in machinery. These predictions will be used to optimize machinery maintenance expenditures and system safety. Sensors, reasoning techniques, advanced materials, and failure modeling techniques are being investigated.

  • Active interrogation techniques for fault detection.
  • Signal processing techniques for failure precursor detection and classification.
